Save room.

With a soul this sober,
a body quite unsophisticated,
and without any ill mannerisms,
I’d have joined a monastery,
or become an eunuch
but for one word: woman,
specifically, you, my sweet creature.

Me journey to the orient
has not let you worry and wait.
It has led you on another,
to derive comfort and happiness
from the arms of my brother.

It’ll take pain and regret,
for me to wait to experience (y)our joy,
or otherwise, for him to gain you.
While you, perhaps, practice for me,
don’t you forget,
to save, in your heart, room for me,
to save room for my love.

But
whatever,
however,
whenever
he fills you,
and this ends,
I want you to know
that right now,
I love you forever.
